Causes of Acne
There are a number of factors which commonly contribute to the development of acne, and often these vary based on the person and their unique skin. But the main causes of acne are pretty universal, and are all conditions that can potentially affect you.
- Oil Buildup
One of the leading causes of acne is the entrapment of excess oils in the pores of the skin. When oils build up in your pores, the pores become stretched and irritated, causing your body to attempt to force it outward through a protective substance known as pus. If you touch your face a lot, the oils from your hands can transfer to the skin on your face and can build up in your pores, allowing pimples to develop.
- Clogged Pores
Acne is most commonly caused by the clumping of oils, hair, and skin cells inside the pores and these clumps act as plugs in your pores. These can be exposed to bacteria, and bacterial exposure causes swelling, thus your pimple.
Ways To Treat Acne Naturally
Many people suffering from conditions that cause acne are spending loads of money trying to figure out how to get rid of Acne, and many do so without success. But there are a few natural solutions to acne, and most of them are available in your own home.
- Garlic
By crushing peeled garlic cloves and applying the juice to the skin on your face, you can keep pimples from developing. But do not leave the juice on for more than ten minutes because this can damage and even burn your skin.
- Egg Yolks
Egg yolks actually contain quite a bit of vitamin A and retinoid, which are used to treat skin conditions. Separate a couple of egg yolks mix them until they reach a consistent texture, and apply as a face mask. This will keep the rate at which you produce skin cells in check and will thus keep your pores form clogging as easily.
- Honey
Honey can be used to treat the acne that is already affecting your skin. Dab a bit of honey on the pimple that is developing and cover it with a bandage. In no time your pimple will be reduced and eventually gone completely.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar can be used as an effective toner. Rubbing your face with this milder form of vinegar can help to rid your pores of the oils and dirt building up beneath the surface of your skin.
- Brown Sugar
Using brown sugar as a scrub to wash your face can help to exfoliate your skin, ridding it of excess dead skin cells and cleaning out your pores. This is best when you are in the shower, as the heat opens your pores up.
- Toothpaste
Rubbing a bit of toothpaste (not gel) on your zits can reduce and eliminate them by drying out the oils that are causing your pores to swell.
- Mint
The menthol in mint can act as a soothing component which will relax your skin and acts as an anti-inflammatory medium, which will reduce the redness caused by acne.
